This is a lotação, a kind of microbus used in the 50' and 60'. This one is based on Chevrolet 1948-51 6500. All 'lotação' were based on truck chassis, such as Ford F-5, or Mercedes-Benz LP-312. There were gasoline and diesel engines. Along the sixties, the gasoline subsidy was reduced, then only Diesel-powered cars remained in operation. |

1948-51 would mean based on a 1947-55 US CKD Advance-Design model: there was no 6500 model before 1951 in the US truck line, and apparently none too in the Brazilian one before the 1957 6503 (pt)? -- Last edit: 2015-09-13 03:46:26 |
