I don't know for Argentina, but in Europe the AK 400 only came in 1970, and it had larger side ribs and (almost always) a higher roof. This would rather be a 1963/64 AK 350 (longer rear body, still suicide doors).

Authentic ambulance? Not a (probably faked) hearse? The cross looks too long for the Red Cross.

Why hearse? :??: never used as hearse.
And most common the AK 400 rather the 350 or probably CitroŽn 2 CV Furgůn AZU

AK 400 may be most common, but I don't think there would be a AK 400 with suicide doors ;) In France the suicide doors were abandoned in 1965, in Spain in 1967, don't know when exactly in Argentina... AK 400 was (in Europe) introduced in June 1970, but as I said: those had larger ribs on teh side and (almost always) a higher roof. And remember, the movie dates from 1970...

I agree that with such cross it makes more think to a hearse (or at least some funeral/church vehicle) than an ambulance.
And anyway, what makes this an ambulance? It is just a van with a cross painted on it, no?

Actually it could be an AZU indeed, even with that long rear side window, a bit like the Belgian built AZUL. The indicator lighht tells us the rear body is quite short. There have been some hearses and ambulances on AZU base in Europe as well.

Never used here any AZU or CitroŽn as hearse. I trying to upload some thumbs.

Can change the class? not a funeral in the movie. Used by ambulance.

What I meant is that the "ambulance" category is for vehicles modified as ambulance, not just used as ambulance ;)

Maybe it was a real ambulance? Like this French one: http://citcity.citroen1.info/Hospital/2cv.htm
