Carcrasher88 is correct. Supposed to be in Washington, DC, based on the license plate and the 23 St. SE street sign, but the skyscrapers in the third thumbnail are a dead giveaway that this is not actually in DC. |

Does anyone else here see the Firestone sign to the right, and the Chevy Trucks in the window of the building? |
◊ 2011-10-02 23:19 |
The signs identify the intersection as 23rd and P streets. The only such intersection is by Rock Creek Park in Northwest. Link to "maps.google.com" |

I don't understand the role of this car in this movie -- Last edit: 2011-11-14 20:08:03 |

It is a background car that get destroyed in a fight scene |
◊ 2011-11-14 20:16 |
I know, but why have a classic Ford stoped close to 4 giant robots ? This car was really neccesaire in this movie ? If was a Prius i will understand |
◊ 2011-11-14 20:17 |
Because Hollywood loves to destroy classic cars. It's just a thing with them. |
◊ 2011-11-14 21:34 |
Maybe it wasn't even real. |

There's always room for hope. |
◊ 2011-11-15 18:01 |
I wonder too. One possibility, as Ford_Guy suggests: (I hope it is true) They had that car as CGI model, and it was easier to make the whole scene car+robot in CGI (and they used a real one for the beginning of the scene, undamaged then) -- Last edit: 2011-11-15 18:02:05 |

God, I really hate Michael Bay! |

It may not drive anymore, but it will live on a stationary background car. A tiny morsel of life, that is. -- Last edit: 2012-06-28 03:28:31 |

$500 a day for that wreck? Really? |
◊ 2012-06-28 12:59 |
It was a wreck before. Look at the back right fender - rust, dirt and filling paste. Junk. |

Kannst du dazu was sagen. |
◊ 2012-06-28 19:57 |
It looks like they used a lot of CGI magic. They were able to cover up the rust and make the paint nicer. You can tell by the very unique damage that its the same car but they made it look really clean for the movie. At least half the movie was CGI,Im just surprised they used it to make a rusted car look nicer. |

Ja, bin ich. Kannst Du mir das Bild mailen? Adresse siehe Profil. -- Last edit: 2012-06-28 21:48:49 |

And it has no engine any more. |

The Galaxie was part of a background scene, first, it gets landed on by a decepticon and then a decepticon shoves it to a Chevrolet service station and explodes destroying the Galaxie in process. |

Well, goes to show ford won't have anything to do in any new transformer movie |
◊ 2017-06-27 08:56 |
Just watched this scene. Oh how I cringed. |

Michael Bay, you sick bastard! I know you don't like Ford, but if you're gonna destroy a Ford, destroy a Pinto! -- Last edit: 2018-08-06 07:24:14 |

Honestly by the looks of it, they grab one from a Junkyard, clean it up, painted it red, gave it some new seats and that's it. |
◊ 2021-07-07 07:13 |
Pintos are rarely than this, also Pintos are more valued thanks to that rumor, and the fact in the UK their engines are pretty popular with Hot Rodders |
◊ 2023-06-08 08:23 |
Rumor? Nah, people actually died from Pintos, Pintos are only rare because they either exploded or scrapped. |
◊ 2023-06-08 12:59 |
Wires getting crossed here - Ford adopted and adapted the Pinto engine for UK production of 1970s Escorts, Cortinas, Capris etc, and it was and still is very popular with boyracers and engine tuners. But they use these UK-made engines without any effect on the Pinto population in US or anywhere else. |

“It was popular and still is” Provided it’s got the late model camshaft oil spray bar, that is. My “M” reg Capri rattled like a bag of bolts, my “V” reg Cortina smooth as silk. Mind you, I only paid £70 for the Capri. -- Last edit: 2023-06-08 17:18:49 |
