Well, we can eliminate '87 and '88 because both had eggcrate grilles. I believe the '89 had the grille nameplate mounted one level lower. It seems to have a center-mounted brake lamp (albeit non-functioning) and narrow bumper strips. I'm thinking 1986 myself. -- Last edit: 2011-09-29 17:49:01 |

Starting in 1987 when this model went from Fleetwood Brougham to simply Brougham there was a change to the bumper rub strips. From 1980 until 1986 the rub strips have a single white strip,it was a separate piece of rubber and over time it would shrink, effectively becoming shorter. Anyway in 1987 the rub strip was changed to feature a wider channel in the middle that was colored grey/white. This car has the old-style rub strip which along with the grill, lights etc. makes it likely a 1986. |
