Filmed in the GDR - but it's no GDR bus, not a Fleischer or an IFA. |

There are much more possibilities of busses in GDR than original IFAs, Fleischers or Eastern imports: smaller body manufacturers. I'm really sure it's a conversion done by KAFA Karosserie- und Fahrzeugfabrik KG of Leipzig due to front (even if I never saw one with Wartburg(-ish) grille/headlights) and side trim. They bodied many IFA S4000-1 T-chassis, but our bus it not one of them - too big. To disappoint you all: most probably the base model will be forever unknown, since especially small companies bodied every type of usable truck and bus chassis after WWII, e.g. on Opel, Faun, Gräf & Stift, Maybach, Citroën... Some got even just motors of tanks. And KAFA hasn't got own model names - they just did bodywork. |

I looked at the scene online. The botanics on the side are hiding some text - I could make out "Waggonbau" but nothing more... |

I saw the scenes, too. The text says 'VEB Waggonbau Niesky', part of the VEB LOWA, which built indeed busses - earlier, until 1955. In Niesky they always built wagons for trains. |
