I go for a 1935 Buick Limited Convertible Phaeton ( series 90 , model 98-C) : unlike the series 60 phaetons it appears to have the very large external chromed door hinges characteristic of the series 90 phaetn , and the front hinged rear doors ( Buick documents show rear hinged rear doors on this model in 1934).This model was rare ( only 38 sold in the US and 5 on special order in export) and phased out early in the year.

Pilou, please disregard everything you read about model names in the 1935 section of Seventy Years of Buick as it is incorrect. The model names were not used until the 1936 models, which were introduced in September 1935. Assuming that the car here is the bigger model it will be a Series 90, not Limited. The pictures in that book are drawings which are incorrect in not showing the chrome hinges. As well the Series 90 phaeton is shown incorrectly with its doors the wrong way around.

A bit of quick research has shown that this car is, in fact, a Series 60 Phaeton and could be either 1934 or 1935. The series 90 has the rear edge of the rear door almost vertical - an indication of the longer wheelbase - Link to "www.gmphotostore.com" - whereas the shorter wheelbase series 60 has the rear door cut away by the rear fender - Link to "www.gmphotostore.com"

Here is a modern pic of a 1934 McLaughlin Series 90 phaeton - note the rear doors - Link to "www.carnut.com"

Today's research will also allow me to update this one - /vehicle_94157-Buick-Series-90-98-C-1934.html - incorrectly labelled as a 90 whereas it is a 60.
