No. Sunbeam Arrow (aka Hillman Hunter), 1966-79 - I'm not sure of when it was sold in the USA.

That would make this a 1966 or '67, since this episode first aired in April 1967. And Sunbeam would make sense since they provided Max's car and others for the series.

That reminds me that "Not Without My Daughter" used mark II Cortinas to stand in for the Paykan, the Iranian version of the Rootes Arrow family.

As sunbar's comment on /vehicle_147442-Sunbeam-Arrow-1967.html , this is the first 1967 version based on first year Hillman Hunter. Nice find.

Err, @dsl and @paykanhunter: I must admit an embarassing mistake, I made yesterday evening [:shy]
Too late I've noticed, that there was on a documentary channel a report "Ceausescu and the Schah". Probably there would be a comment about the already mentioned http://www.paykanhunter.com/2010/06/ceausescus-paykan.html - but I missed it :(
But this history-channel often uses repetitions, so there's a chance to watch it again. In that case I must alarm any other IMCDb-user to record it. I'm too stupid to operate a DVD-recorder, not to talk about a VHS-recorder.

Probably the car was a gift, with the occasion of Pahlavi's visit in Romania, 2-5 june 1973.

dsl wrote a comment about this car in one of the archieved comments here: /vehicle.php?id=446325 and somewhere else, for example here /vehicle.php?id=418123 a bit more about the connections between the Rootes company and the Iran.

Have you known, that the connections between Romania and Iran had been so close, that there was an import of Iranian vehicles? As joeaki writes ( /vehicle_271992-Irannational-MB-O-309-T2-1972.html ), even in remarkable numbers.

Yes, they were many. As a child, in the 80s, I was fascinated by Irannational buses. But, at that time, I thought they are Mercedes. I found out they are made in Iran only when I discovered IMCDb. I was surprised.
