Do the concepts of probability and plausibility still exist in Englandshire these days? I can remember they used to be around when I were a lad in Birmingham and Mott the Hoople were brightening everybody's lives, but it seems as if they have died out, just like Mott. At least with Scottish devolution we can keep this useful traditions alive beyond the reach of the nihilists down south. Sandie ◊ 2011-07-24 03:27	It was quite common in series such as the Professionals or The Sweeney for them to subtly alter the plates to make the cars appear newer. Lasted just five years? Typical Jaguar quality of the era.
G-MANN ◊ 2011-07-24 18:26	Well, if that's the case they've done a convincing job (in this font a C looks nothing like a D so they would have had to stuck a sticker over it or something) or put on a completely different plate. This also has a badge behind the front wheelarch which is probably the D badge that according this 1982 brochure (page 8) http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/82inpursuit.html means Vanden Plas. Also has chrome trim (and possibly paint strip underneath although it's hard to tell for sure) Sandie is this your picture?
