Ce cabriolet Cadillac, "Series 62", année 1958, aux coloris psychédéliques est mis en scène de façon assez brève par le cinéaste de l'horreur, Wes Craven

For some reason, I always thought it was a 57' Bel Air Convertible that everyone piled into, guess I wasn't paying as close attention as I should've.

No...if I remember right the trunk of the old Caddy in the junk yard, that held the remains of Freddy, was the back end of an old 59.

This one of my favorite cars!! Back in those days, this was just another 26-year old convertible. I would be so jealous back then of someone owning a '58 Cadillac!! Those sharp fins look amazing.

These pictures back up my opinion that the various 1958 GM models look better than the '57s.

I have always felt that way, jettalover. Especially the Cadillac.
Glad to have someone agree with me!

Commander 57: maybe the quad headlamps instead of duel headlamps of previous years helps. Was it just GM that switched to quad headlamps for '58?

US state laws forbade quad headlights until 1956. Some US cars had quad headlights in 1957 but not all states allowed them. By 1958 all US cars had quad headlights and it was now legal in all states.

Here is a good picture that shows 1957 DeSotos, they where available both with dual and quad headlights depending on where it was sold:

Other cars that was sold with quads in 1957 were Lincoln, Cadillac, Nash, Mercury and some more.

I just prefer the beltline flow and C panel design of the '58 Cadillac sedan, jettalover.
It has a smoother, easier-on-the-eyes appearance to me than does the '57.
I favor the '58 fin design, too.
