It is an Alvis - there are closeups in the film which clearly show the hare radiator mascot. My guess is a 1928-30 12/60hp type?

This very same car recently attended a competition of elegance in Nice, France. I've been told it's a 1931 12/60 TK Sport.

/vehicle_346539-Alvis-12-60-Sport-8923-1931.html , https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/16508/lot/140/ - "Delivered new in the UK in July 1931 and first registered ‘GP 5256’, chassis number ‘8923’ was originally bodied with two-seater ‘beetleback’ coachwork by Carbodies. It seems that the present body was fitted at some time between 1953 and 1958. In 1966 the car enjoyed its brief moments of glory, appearing in two motion pictures: The Battle of Britain, as Michael Cain’s car and Monte Carlo or Bust, in the opening credits."
