This bit's quite funny, he arrives for his first day at high school in a muscle car, rock music blaring, as if he's in an 80s teen flick but he's a bit out of date, all the snotty 90s high schoolers just sneer at him. Still a nice car though, I really liked the one Daryl Hannah drove in Kill Bill Vol 2. -- Last edit: 2006-10-25 17:53:31 |

Ya, thats what happens to me when I drive my Tempo. It has vinyls, seat covers, a heavy-duty stereo system (made by Boston) and all these other accessories. And they act like: why? They all have Honda Accords and Toyota Camrys, and I have a Tempo. And, what else seems to shock them is that I don't act ashamed. Well, I don't really care what other people think. It is good to be unique, why have the same Accord, Maxima or Camry that every singly other person has? |

I've achived the other comments on this page, it's not that I'm trying to censor Explorer4x4, but because I started a discussion on the legal ages of driving in different countries, it was perfectly civilised but nothing to do with the film Billy Madison. |

I never understood why Billy drives a 16 year old car in this movie. His father's a multi-millionaire - shouldn't he have a Porsche or something? That Firebird would have been old even when Billy was in high school. And how does he manage to get a parking spot right in front of the school? -- Last edit: 2025-02-03 03:35:46 |

No, he's 27, so would have been at high school a decade earlier in the mid-80s, this car wouldn't have been old then. The whole point of this scene is he's trying to be what would have been cool when he went to high school, but now, in the 90s, he's out of fashion. And here I am back on this page, 19 years after my last comment (about a film that is now 30 years old). Feels weird! -- Last edit: 2025-08-14 01:45:51 |

well... showing up in high school with a car is something that most can't afford anyway.. i would have been ok with having a Trans Am in my 90's high school days... ![]() |

@G-MANN - Billy would have been a senior in high school around 1986. The car would have been 7 years old at this point, in other words, out of date (especially in the mind of a teenager, where an "old" phone is anything from last year). When I was in year 12 (or form 6 as we called it), in 1999, I viewed some cars from 1992 as old/outdated (for example, the Mercedes W201 and W124). -- Last edit: 2025-09-16 18:09:28 |
