It is a Reynolds Boughton RB44 (and not a Dodge or Renault). Reynolds Boughton have a history of producing 4x4s for the military and fire services and buying cabs in; a previous version of the RB44 used the Ford A-series cab. Also, if you look at the connected Dodge 100 page (link at bottom of the page mentioned above), there's a picture that shows a 100 with both a Renault badge and a Dodge badge. So, these models were (in some markets) marketed under both brands at the same time. Further, in Mexico, there are a couple Hyundai models sold in Dodge dealers, but with the Hyundai badges still on them. http://www.dodge.com.mx/ For many years, in different markets, Dodge has sold other brand's models, without placing the Dodge name on them. |

They were sold here as both as Renault bought Dodge Trucks in the mid eighties. This however, is a completely unrelated vehicle that puts the Renault 50 cab on a 4wd chassis. @Antoine: R-B kept the Renault lozenge on the grille (probably to keep costs down), but put their own badge on it: see their website: http://www.reynolds-boughton.com/military-gallery.asp . And the picture on Wikipedia shouldn't be there; the cab is the only Renault/Dodge-sourced part. Reynolds-Boughton make the chassis themselves, and the engine comes from Perkins. |
