Interesting raised deck and Magirus label (even if they cooperated with them) IMO such version had different name than 170. This design was introduced in 1976 on bodies made in Ljubljana BTW.
If I only could have pic of the "TAM 230 A12", I've got impression it might be this...

Probavbly some 190 A 110 T - http://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae153/Mile999/DSC04356.jpg
Or 190 A 11 T - http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/oo118/branko_2580/PB090104.jpg

(hm, what's difference between 110 and 11...?)

No. 190 was made since 1981, it replaced the 170 (was longer, but had the same design amd notable inclined window after the doors). Here it is high deck bus. Not so common version. Majority of TAMs with this design had lower deck (same like buses in your links). To this one similar was also 260 A120, but it had bigger side windows and was made since ca 1983/84.
The Magirus badge is important here IMO. It was unique on TAM buses, it most probably means, that this bus was built on Magirus chassis, so same like rare TAM 230 A12 also bodied in Ljubljana. But it is not possible to find any pic to confirm.

I just guess, that in ca mid 80's they could change naming from 2 to 3 digits, or 0 indicated some more specific version.

Edit! Past time - it was not possible - here it is - 230 A12 T - http://www.njuskalo.hr/autobusi-kombi/tam-t-230-oglas-516978 !
And year of this used bus nicely fits - 1982, so the mentioned 260 had to replace it soon.

Hmm... But they use rigid numbering:

190 - HP
A - autobus
110 - length (11 m)
T - touristic (M - mestni/city, P - primestni/suburban)

Older ones had shorter names/numbers.
