I'm surprised by the fact that there are so few of these on the site. |
◊ 2011-04-17 12:58 |
Probably there was no noticeable export of it. |

I would say about no noticeable production. I've seen less than five. |

I saw one today and one week ago. |

Yes, the majority of used Audi 100's in Germany, upgoing from the Typ43, was indeed exported to Russia. No kidding, you see more of them on Russian roads than here I'm living nearby the West-East going Autobahn A2, where you always can see a plenty of car-transporter-trucks, loaded mainly with Audis, VW Jetta/Vento, Passat and Opel Vectra and Omega. Usually never Russian trucks, mainly from the Baltic states or Belarus. As Russian friends told me, the import of used cars is restricted, they were brought to that countries and then smuggled into Russia. My 1998/99-wintercar, an 1984 Audi 80 SC made this way, also my Dad's 1990 Passat Variant GT A colleague has sold his 1986 Audi 100 with over 200.000 km to a Siberian guy. The new owner has send him always a postcard, when he reached the next 100.000 km. IIRC Thorsten got total six postcards from Russia |

I was suspecting that.) Interesting, that 90,200 and V8 are alot more rare. |

These are nearly totally disappeared here. 200 and V8 became a enthusiasts-classic cars. There are clubs for that and you don't see these Audis any more as all-day-cars. |

^mainly due to the f...ing Abwrackprämie @the others: it was an idea of the German government in 2009, that meant you could get a lot of money if you let your old car get crushed. Thousands of old- and youngtimers (20 year old cars) died - I, nine going on ten, was steamed even back then. -- Last edit: 2017-03-23 19:00:48 |
