| This is merely speculation, but I'm guessing it's slightly newer than '87. This is based on the assumption (I can't read the badge) that this is one of the more basic models (I can't see headrests, so I'm fairly sure this is the basic bench seat). I know the XL and Custom didn't get the chrome grille until '89. But as I said, it's just a guess. |

| I think you might be right about not getting the chrome grille until later. I was thinking 1988 as the changeover year though. |
