As it was filmed in South Africa - was the Scorpio I sold/assembled there? If yes, was it names Merkur there? |

All American cars made me assume that it was filmed in USA. No idea about its name in South Africa. |

I think that car is not a Scorpio, but Sierra (Hatchback) or Sapphire (Sedan), like this: http://www.autoevolution.com/image/ford-sierra-3-doors-1990/17440.html#image |

I think you are right, I was thinking Merkur XR4Ti which is the US version of the Sierra. This was filmed in South Africa and Wiki says that the sedan was called simply Sapphire there. To bad we don't have a made for RSA tag... -- Last edit: 2011-04-05 10:08:43 |

Lights too big and grille too small for Sierra or Scorpio. And I think it's a coupe. Do any of the fronts used on a 3rd generation Mustang 79-82 fit? |

Can be the effect of big headlights caused by the reflection of light around the perimeter ? Look at the bumper: it is the same as my link. |

Perhaps brightening the image would help. |

It wasn't assembled there, or? |
