If that is the actual Rescue 4 from FDNY it is an MR Mack with a Saulsbury body. Several others just like it are here http://www.fdnytrucks.com/files/html/specialunits/hmops.htm . FDNY used only MR chassis when the Rescues were Macks. I was told the 'R' in MR stands for Rescue package (can't confirm that). -- Last edit: 2009-02-10 05:57:59 |

Yes, that really is the old Rescue 4, and it is a 1988 Mack MR chassis with a saulsbury heavy rescue body, FDNY had bought two of them for R3 and R4, they also purchased a set in '85, same MR/Saulsbury configuration for R1 and R5, Saulsbury designed all FDNY rescues right up to the five they bought in 2002 |
