Agreed, Yvon. It's one of the "De Ville" cars ("Series 63"). The "Series 62" has a small, rectangular ID plate on the forward end of the front fender. The "De Villes" have a script nameplate at located at the rear of the rear fender. Definitely not "Seville"; it had the name "ELDORADO" in block letters on the forward end of the front fender. |

This just typifies Hollywood's lack of respect/outright contempt for antique cars. If you consider how many times we have seen this sort of thing over the years we have been doing this site, I'm sure the toll they have taken is in the tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of vehicles. Disgusting. -- Last edit: 2012-01-31 17:47:42 |

Why "Series 63"? We don't name Eldorado "Series 64". |

Indeed, there are four others listed that way, I suppose we could rename them to Sedan DeVille / Coupe DeVille ? |

And I agree. Series 63, as model name, for pre-war Cadillacs (1942). For 1960 Series 62= Series 62; DeVilles = Series 63; Eldorados= Series 64; 60 Special = Series 60; 60 Special Brougham = Series 69 and Fleetwood 75 = Series 67. This is a '60 DeVille Hardtop Coupe 6337J. Despite we don't see the script on the rear fender this lacks of the bar medallion on front fender it got Series 62 as http://www.remarkablecars.com/main/cadillac/cadillac-00001-1.jpg -- Last edit: 2012-01-31 18:43:51 |

This is a 1960 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. My dad has owned this exact car in New Zealand. Still sporting the axe marks in the headlight surrounds. It now sits in a museum in New Zealand. Unfortunately, my dad kept it completely original but when the museum took ownership (bought off the person my dad sold it to) painted it black for some unknown reason. It had personalised number plates on it 6TCAD. ![]() |

Is their anyway to also list Robman6 as the owner, or can we only do one per vehicle? According to Carjam it was originally gold and apparently came to NZ in January 1995 (https://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=6TCAD) So from the looks of things, Robman6 imported it to NZ, sold it do kristynendt dad, and he sold it to the unnamed museum. ![]() No idea which museum it could be, typing in 6TCAD Cadillac on Google didn't lead me anywhere........ Closest I could find was the 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville on display at the NCCM, any of the NZ members wanna take an crack at this? -- Last edit: 2025-10-10 19:48:09 |
