Hi there love this website, just like to inform any interested parties that the contessa's jensen reg number hpp4g now belongs to me,is still in every day use, taxed and MOT'D and living in Manchester UK.unfortunately someone had it painted in the most horrible duck egg blue colour with a gloss black roof, so I intend to do some minor ongoing restoration, then have it returned to its original silver colour. Another interesting fact is that I am fairly certain this car also appeared in the tv series UFO but only pictured in Harlington Strakers car park,if anyone out there could shed any light on this, I would be very greatfull as there is very little history with the car.
best regards

I owned HHP4g for about 5 or 6 years in the early 80's. It was white with a black roof in those days - did a lot of work on it too (stainless exhaust, repaired some trim, got hold of the original mk1 headrests etc etc)

Hi all. Just to let you know that I bought HPP 4G from alicemcn last week. She's still a bit rough and still that horrible off white colour with a black roof, but drives nicely. I've been invited by the Fanderson Club to attend their convention with the car in October (yes, really!), so this is a good date to set in my sights. Hopefully by then she will have had a body retoration in the correct colour and new carpets, wood and chrome. If anybody has any spares available, especially chrome rostyle wheels & front head restraints (they must have been 'mislaid' since lawrietwo owned the car), please let me know. Would be greatly appreciated. Will keep you posted on here guys! Also, if you have anymore photos etc could you please let me know. I'm keen to trace it's full history. Thanks.

Blimey! First silver, then white, then duck-egg blue and now DVLA claim it is painted black! I thought the silver suited it very well. jagtecs, how's the restoration going and why didn't you go back to the original colour?

Interesting as I'm trying to explain this 1:43 Atlas Editions partwork livery made by Norev:
[Image: front.jpg] [Image: rear.jpg]

which has the nonsense number plate JIS 693T. Has that livery/plate ever been used in a screen role? If so could it have been HPP 4G? If anyone's interested in the model, there's usually a few on ebay, but beware of cr*p quality control. Every example I've seen with an intact rear bumper has it fitted upside down (or it's broken off) and it's rare to find one with both mirrors still attached, even from sealed packs.

Hi all. I haven't logged onto this site in such a long time. Please forgive me. Just a little update on HPP 4G, she is still unrestored and currently off the road. She needs a new front valance, a thumb-sized weld on the inner wheel arch and the bottom of the passenger door needs welding. She still runs and drives. - I start her up every couple of weeks just to hear the burble! I have had the seats and door panels re-covered in black leather, managed to source some original head restraints too (in one of the pics on here she is seen to have head restraints fitted). As you can see by this pic [Image: image.jpg] there is still a long way to go. What with a house renovation and restoration of a Jaguar XJC, I just never seem to have the time. I will keep you updated as the restoration progresses. Oh, forgot to mention, but the original colour code is not recognised these days by 99% of paint manufacturers. However, I was extremely fortune to speak to a painter who works for Eurocopter, who managed to supply me with 5 litres of the original colour. I was amazed and almost kissed him! Lol. So she WILL be returned to Jensen Mist Grey metallic :-)

Hi again. Just found a photo on the net of what is believed to be HPP 4G in an episode of 'UFO'. She has of course got spurious number plates attached, in fitting with the futuristic nature of the UFO TV series. [Image: image.1.jpg]

Hi Interceptor80. Really great to know that your grandfather once owned HPP 4G. I still own it and as a matter of fact, after many years and failed restoration attempts (time wasting garage owners!) she underwent the start of a professional restoration just 3 weeks ago! The car has now been stripped and the engine is due to be removed next week, ready for the shell to be sand blasted. It’s going to be a full and total restoration. 🙂 If you have any photos of the car under your grandfathers ownership, I would love to see them!

Some photos of the car so far, at the start of the restoration. New (rare) door handles have been sourced today & the new colour chosen. The original colour was ‘ICI Mist Grey metallic’ which is now unavailable so the car will be painted in a modern Rolls Royce colour ‘Tempest Silver metallic’. Lots more money to be spent unfortunately. 🙈

As can be seen by the most recent photo, she has been stripped, media blasted and is now awaiting welding. Engine has been rebuilt and painted. The search continues for an exhaust manifold, as one of the originals was cracked. New carpets, headlining, woodwork and steering wheel arrived last week. The correct Voxson FM 8-track stereo arrived in the post this morning. Looking forward to when it will be finished in a few months time. Also, the son of the original owner has been in contact via the Jensen club, which is nice.

The car is now solid & painted in its original colour and back home with me, waiting to be rebuilt. 🙂
