When Studebaker shut down in 1966, my Uncle switched to selling Land Rovers and English Fords but I believe the Anglia was gone by then. I seem to remember Cortinas, though. -- Last edit: 2011-02-09 22:05:22 |

AFAIK the Anglia was built until 1967 or 1968. |

OK, then he may have handled them in '67 and '68. |

UK production stopped Nov 67 ahead of Escort launch Jan 68. While Anglias were widely exported in early 60s, I think it tailed off by 65-66; Ford UK efforts to crack US market lasted a bit longer, by then mainly with Cortinas (Mk1 and early Mk2) which did not sell in big numbers. I guess they gave up soon after 68 onwards safety/pollution regs came in. -- Last edit: 2011-02-09 22:34:30 |

Yeah, I remember my uncle didn't sell them long before moving over to an AMC franchise. |

Seems US had normal Anglia Deluxe 997cc [106E] from 1960, added Standard poverty version and Estate in 1962 and Super [1198cc, 124E] in 1964. Then in 1965, range was chopped back to just the Deluxe but now with upgrade to 1198cc [so 124E] until end 1967. |
