Looks alot like a Caddilac Eldorado. Maybe a FWD model. Early 70's. Late 80's. Like Boss Hogs car in the Dukes Of Hazzard.

What about Fleetwood or SeVille?

If you wanted one of these.....you had to cut the roof off yourself! BTW When you cut the roof off a non-convertible framed car, it will fold up when you open the doors.

But aren't body-on-frme constructed cars less prone to folding in than unibodies?

The front looks kind of like a 69-70 model Cadillac Deville.

The last US 4 door convertible was the 1961 Lincoln so this one is not a real car.

Well, as has been said, it's nothing Cadillac ever made. However, it's still entirely possible it's a custom job.

yes, this is true. But convertible frames have much more built-in support than a sedan, stationwagon or coupe frame. When you cut the roof off a nonconvertible car you dramatically weaken the front to rear structural strength of the vehicle, I was a partner in a franchise company selling and installing Targa tops (one piece removable roof panels) in new Pontiac Firebirds and Camaros, these installed between the A & B pillars. We converted Coupes only, we had to reinforce the frame before we cut out the roof. We did a new Pontiac Fiero for a dealership, an employee cut out the roof before he gusseted frame, both doors were open and the car folded, the doors never closed again. That was a bad day!!!

Nice to see you back :) We were wondering yesterday on the forum how come we did not see any comment from you these days.

To answer to Wickey's question, we could list it as Cadillac Custom Convertible...

On this same episode Moe drove a light blue 1959 -60 Ford F-series pick-up.

It's just a "cartoon" but it does have a '70s "Cadillac look", especially around the front clip. Cadillac never made a production convertible with four doors after 1941. call it an "imaginary, custom 4-door convertible from around the early 70s" ...or just delete it from the Database.

Be logic, how could Marge get in an other car = So it's "Marge Special Edition Limited"

I think the closest you could get in real life would be a '73 Sedan Deville with the top cut off and the frame re-inforced. that way the front clip would be pretty close, or maby even a '69-'70 might work. the grille is more '73 though.

I'm not sure if the frame would even need to be reinforced, especially since many of those cars were built as convertibles anyway and the rollover standards weren't as strict back then, which is why hard tops could even exist. it would have been a smart move for GM to just use the same heavy duty frame for all of the cars as to keep production costs down. making a convertible like this wouldn't be hard and i'm sure has been done more than once in real life.

Thanks, my computer blew up and I had to rebuild it. Now I am in the process of painting my house so I won't have much time for a couple of weeks but I check in when I can.
