In this month's 'Rétroviseur' (#247) there's an article about a car collectioner Jacques Lafond. One of his cars is this very Delahaye. He calls the car a 1938 Delahaye 135 Figoni. But still it can be model year 1939 and version MS... The story behind the car: The first owner was a French who lived in Uruguay. He imported the car in 1939, but in the 50s he sent the car back to France for some restauration work. In this period it had been used for this movie. Then the car went back to Uruguay. Later it was auctioned by Coys in the UK, where the present (and only second!) owner, Mr. Lafond, also resides. |
