1963-1967 3000 Mk III(victorious at RAC Rally into Sixties') PS Of that car were realized few,almost-experimental,ones(5,seems)powered by Rolls-Royce 4lt.6cyl.engines of Vanden Plas Princess 4R of 1964-1968,but the reorganization of BMC in BMH(British Motor Holding)before(1967)and BLMC(British Leyland Motor Corp.)then(1968)will sign the swan song of Big Healeys and that interesting project(but on an aged coque)was sunk(Healeys with that engine were recognizable for a small RR Brand placed on the trunk hood,as the one shown on the encyclopaedia"The Car",published thru 1984-1985 by Orbis in UK--of which I own Italian issued version) PS2 At end of Eighties that car will revive in an "authorized replica appointed by Healey's family"called just Healey(this time without Austin);in the wawe of revivals of old motoring glories,into same period appears also the Haldane 100,but based on originary Big Healey,the 1953 100,with similar body -- Last edit: 2007-01-07 12:26:15 |
