What about the rail drip around the door? Should it be 1974 model year? |

It’s hard to say, as I have found no information to suggest the drip rails were only made available for 1974-onward models. This article (below) concerning the 1973-1987 rounded-line generation indicates that dealerships offered a temporary fix until GM could issue a quick and permanent solution. It implies that the solution (drip rail moldings) was promptly issued to help satisfy consumers. Thus it’s likely the drip rail moldings became available late within the 1973 model year. 1973 models can have the drip rail moldings (to satisfy owners of those trucks), but they would have been installed by dealerships, not the factory.
