It is sporting an 88" roof as said, but those windows are not station wagon windows on the heardtop sides, rather they are an after-market addition (AFAIK anyway). The roof also has four ridges, and it should only have three. I reckon the roof is some pattern part, or a modified stock one. |

There are a couple of interesting features on this land Rover. The apron panel and wipers show it as a 'black dash' 2A (1967-1969). Interestingly it is fitted with a rear fill fuel tank and stacked lights, which were never a military arrangement (in the UK). In fact, the rear fill tank wasn't fitted to civvy models (except for a few special orders) until 1974. I'm pretty sure this is a locally assembled vehicle built from a kit supplied from the UK and has a lot of local content. The badge on the grille is certainly not the normal Land Rover oval. Its a pity its not clear enough to read or the mystery would be solved. |

The film was made in South African-occupied Namibia, so the Land-Rover might well be South African army surplus. |
