2007 at least. Interesting... you think they would stretch a Navigator over an Expedition. |

They stretched an Expedition EL which was already a long wheelbase vehicle. I never have understood the purpose of turning a SUV into a limousine. But I guess limousine building companies will stretch anything with wheels. |

Vinyl top on the roof and pillars is cool. |

From the vehicles I've seen stretched into limos over the years nothing surprises me. I have to agree with you though about SUV limos... absolutely no point. |

Look at that wonderfully classy interior!: http://pistonheads.com/sales/1366310.htm |

Maybe SUV stretch limos have more space inside because of their tall bodies. And people probably think they look good. |

Yeah!!! I mean WTF is it with SUV limos anyway!!!???? They're the most POINTLESS and WORTHLESS vehicles around!!!! I mean, Whose Incredibly Wacko, Hairbrained Maniacal idea was it to take a full size SUV like a Suburban or Excursion, Already behemoths to begin with, And them stretch them the length of 3 WHOLE CITY BLOCKS!!!????? I just don't understand this hair brained wackiness at all!!! |

These types of limos serve their purpose. As G-MANN pointed out, their larger interior makes them more comfortable and ideal for larger parties, especially since many are targeted at the teenage demographic (proms, birthday parties, etc.) So they certainly do have practical uses, no matter how ridiculous they may look at times. |

I’m wondering if it’s a factory Ford Expedition EL fleet class vehicle designated for limousine conversion and not simply a civilian Ford Expedition EL that has been stretched. There are major differences in the two. Among some of the notable differences, no SafetyCanopy side-curtain air bags, and its the only Expedition that is still fitted with a rear Traction-lok limited-slip differential (LSD) post 2006. This is due to the fact that they do not have, nor are they available with AdvanceTrac electronic stability control and electric traction control. -- Last edit: 2011-08-02 04:01:53 |
