It’s a very early model, as it lacks the drip rail moldings around the top of the cab. GM issued drip rail moldings later on to address a design flaw the rounded-lines had, and anyone who owned a rounded-line that didn’t leave the factory with them, could have the drip rails installed at a local dealership. It should be noted that when the rounded-line pickups and utilities made their grand début in 1972, the public was very wary of them. At first people simply could not believe that the all-new trucks could be tough workhorses. They looked like no other vehicle, and for sure didn’t look like the typical American pickups that had came before. They broke the styling barrier for pickups, and proved that pickups could indeed be classy. |
