How does one tell the difference between a Brooklands and a Turbo R? |

The differences are, just to mention a few, the long-winged mirror, the smaller grille and the now missing quarter-light at the front doors. But at least, one must indeed have an eagle eye to say whether such a car is Mulsanne Turbo or a Turbo R or a Brooklands or an Eight or an Mulsanne S or an Mulsanne or a Turbo RT etc etc etc etc. During the 1990's Messrs Rolls-Royce brought out so many different types that it became more and more difficult to be able to say which model just drove past you when you where walking down to the Cafe de Paris... Missing the good old times when RR introduced a Silver Shadow and a Bentley T-type and kept them in their program for 22 years until the RR Silver Shadow II and Bentley T2 came out.... -- Last edit: 2006-07-31 20:14:50 |

Well it's easy to tell a Bentley Eight, it had a cheap-looking wire mesh grille, and the Mulsanne had a crome grille. |

G-Mann: Yes, if generally speaking, you are right, but only as long customers did not order something special like a Mulsanne grille for an Eight or an Eight grille for their sporty Turbo R... ;-) |
