US-spec ML 430 delivered June 14, 1999 in Brilliant Silver Metallic with grey leather interior. 4JGAB72E6XA128095 This can mean it is Canadian-spec, but as it has no DRLs I think it is rather referring to the Canada Special Edition, which means it comes with winter tires and block heater. I've seen the same for Sweden, no details available. This one actually has SA codes 460 Canada version and 494 U.S. version  809 so still a 1999. Even 887 Lockable safe; could be a former police vehicle, carrying guns/ammo?For the DRL, IIRC it was a position on the light switch for OFF where all lights were turned off. |

@tore-40 to answer your 887 lockable safe question. There was a package offered here in US (might be the same as CDN) where the safe was actually part of the package. Let me see if I can find a screenshot (I read this the other day). @gamer DRLs are on a fuse and can be bypassed. A lot of the CDN guys, on my Honda forum, disable their DRLs. I do not believe this is illegal. Cars are only required to be sold with them. Baube might know more but I don't believe they are required after the vehicle hits the resale market? from what i've heard/read DRL has to be working for 10 years from new ( except i think Nova Scotia that requires that you turn on the headlights if DRL are not working anymore ) but once the vehicle is shipped elsewhere Transports Canada can't do nothing about it ( to bring it back you'll have to bring back the DRL as well ) as for getting DRL disabled , i guess it depends from the make/model .. i took off my Protegé's DRL fuse and all it did is getting them brighter, just like if i turned the headlights on ( but someone who knows some stuff about cars probably knows a better way ) . I also could cut them at any time by pulling on the handbrake lever ( no need to pull it full back, just above the resting position is ok ) on my Mazda . My Nissan can do the same thing but only if i pull the lever before starting the engine ( they keep getting on if i do it after or release the handbrake ) . Never tried with the Tempo so i can't tell some GM models also have them off until the shifter quits the Park position as for being illegal.. i don't think someone ever had a ticket for not having DRL but you probably need them to pass the inspection -- Last edit: 2022-01-13 11:16:14 |
