Then it is 1971/72.

 No Super Beetle, it's a Sedan. It has the flat front. At it's not "texasgelb", rather "sunyellow" (sonnengelb). So 1974+, as this colour wasn't available earlier.

I think little older. VW emblem on frontfood, 68-72?

As it's in the US, a 1968-72 Beetle has to be a 1500 (which looks like the 1300), the basic 1968-72 1200 was not on the US-market. This car is surely a 1973/74 1200 -Sedan in the USA-, at first due the colour, and it has not the 1500/1300-typical chrome-trims, for example in the window-rubbers.

Hmm, I think Ingo is right, I was to fast with the 02 declaration, its a 1500, but the coulor, I'm quiet sure its "texasyellow", maybe over the years (about 35+!) of the bugs life it got new painted.

 Sorry stu, but it's fore sure no 1500. Wikipedia has listed 1200/1300/1500 for the years 1968 to 1974: Link to "de.wikipedia.org" but in fact the 1500 was not any more on the market, when the 1302 and the 1303 were released.
I just have checked my collection of the VW-range-programmes from the early 70ies - and the 1500 was already not any more listed in the issue of 8/1970! O.k., all my VW-range-brochures are only form Europe and Asia and not from the USA. Maybe the 1500 was a bit longer on that market.

As the 1500 is not listed any more for the years after 1970/71, it was never offered with these shiny mid-70ies colours, which came up mainly in the model-years after 1972/73 (incl.texasgelb) And all the 1500's, I have ever seen, were always from 1968 or 1969 and not newer. And as I wrote above, the 1500 had always the whole chrome-trims of the 1968-70-years. The car on the pic has even the simple black window-rubbers.

So I'm very sure, that it's a 1974 1200 Sedan.

Similar in UK - 1500 stopped August 1970, 1302S (aka 1600 Super beetle) started Sept 70.

Somewhere here I've already asked, at what exact date/day these US-law became its validity, but I didn't got an answer :/ I still think, that this car is one of the very last cars befor this law.
