1957 De Soto, probably Firesweep

EDIT: some original text removed, see comments below:
This cannot be a Firesweep, for this reason and for the fact that the base model DeSoto shared more styling with Dodge, than with its own marque. Headlamp bezels were connected to the chrome hood trim, and for '57, the single headlamp bezels were used, allowing more room between the headlamps and the outer bezel rings.

I confirmed with the author of that website, an expert in '57 DeSoto, and there are some interesting details:
1. Early in the model year, 11 states had not yet legalized the use of quad headlamp configurations. Early Firedomes and Fireflites were available with larger, single headlamps inside of the same bezel used for quad lamps.
2. The roof moulding trim level 1 and 2 are visible on this car, as was standard on all Sportsman hardtops series Firedome and above.
3. No V8 emblem visible behind front wheel opening, this is indeed a Firedome. CORRECTION: this emblem is a V with a kind of eagle head inside, there is no "8" on any part of it. Firedomes and Fireflites both had V8 engines.

4. Firesweep models of 1957-58 were built using a Dodge chassis. New article in Hemmings Classic Car magazine about this.
