The large lights are auxiluary lights, the small positioning lights define it as a pre 1968 model. It is a 109" Series II or IIa Station Wagon.

Has anyone noticed that when the Police raid the house at the end of the movie, they appear to be using the same Land Rover that the heavies have been driving round in for the preceding 90 minutes? What's that all about?

I guess the budget didn't stretch to hiring another Land Rover?!

The registration is a non-suffix number meaning this should be 1962 or earlier Land Rover. However, there's a slim chance this could be a 1962 or even 1963 car if it was registered in a far flung corner of the UK where they were still using up their stocks of non-suffix numbers. Also note the body coloured roof panel showing this is probably a Series 2 built sometime between 1958 and 1961.

The registration letters appear to be GFT, which was originally the (only) Tynemouth registration. FT registrations progressed very slowly and it seems quite possible that GFT was issued as late as 1963/4. I mentioned this in passing on /vehicle_228637-Austin-A30-1953.html .

I noticed that , it wasn't a small budget film you would think they could have hired another vehicle !
