Not sure if it’s a genuine NYPD crime scene unit. They were used as mobile labs. I don’t think they still use these in their fleet, do they? This one is a top-of-the-line luxury Silverado, and I’m not sure the NYPD would purchase a top-end utility, but maybe our experts on police vehicles would know for sure if the NYPD would do that. The vehicle is a rear-wheel drive (may or may not have the optional intelligent rear differential lock) half-ton, so a R-1500. |

No, while this is highly detailed, this is by no means a real NYPD truck. NYPD Suburbans were usually GMC Suburban base models, ordered with NYCDOT orders from 1983-1991. Luxury Silverados would have been used by the ESU personnel, most likely but even then that's a stretch. |
