wow then someone should really tell gm that all of their catalogs in all of their dealerships and gmpartsdirect.com are wrong http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r82/tonkatracker/grille.jpg had to "print screen" then upload it to my photobucket account since you cant link to gm parts catalog. |

I've tried to look through the internet looking for the first model year and have never been able to find out for sure which model year was first. Even the information on wikipedia (yes, I know, it's not the most reliable source) continuously changes from 1996 to 1997 as the first model year. So honestly, I'm not 100% sure, maybe you're right. |

Well, GM could be wrong, GM has listed wrong info before (i.e. typo errors) So I would not look to GM for all my info needs, just FYI. But in this case, the vans did start for the 1996 model year. Motor Trend did a test on the Express. Quite impressive actually. Link to "www.motortrend.com" So GM was right ... this time around ![]() |

That information could have been useful quite a while back Neptune ![]() |

I’m sorry, I didn’t think about listing that ... ![]() |

That's alright. I feel like a bit of a fool now for having gone with the 1997 year as the first model year ![]() |

@Terra any rear door shots? 1996-1997 say GMC truck while 1998-2002 have just GMC on the rear doors. |

Is there a shot showing the weight class at the door? |

If I were a gambling man I would bet this is a 3500 weight class by the height, rear beefy axle, and extended length. It looks elongated. |
