 Why specifically 1972? There was no change as far as I know for that m.y. This is early 1969+ car from bumpers and front design.

 I doubt it. Firstly, I think it's RHD and has therefore been imported from the UK (or some other RHD country) during its lifetime; and secondly, I'm not even sure it's a kosher Romanian plate - the font looks wrong.
