I didn't watch the premier, but I may have to start watching if they're going to use this. |

According to this news article carguy60 posted, this is the same one used in the original series /vehicle.php?id=88377 |

This is the last car Jack Lord used in the original show...and it does still run! It may be difficult to tell from these photos but if you research the iconic car you'll find that it was a 74 Marquis Brougham. Lord's stunt man, John Nordlum, got the car when the show ended and has had it ever since! Producers of the new show contacted him and he made a deal to let them use it for a while. Even though the car is pretty rusty, they did give it a new coat of paint! However, I do not believe that it will actually become the new Steve McGarrett's regular car used on the new show...I'm afraid it's probably beyond that point now. But, I do hope that it will show up a few more times in episodes to come...so far it's only been shown once in the Pilot episode (aka the pic above). Supposedly the new Steve is slowly trying to restore the car over the coarse of the show, as it was his dad's. I will always love the original "Hawaii Five-0"...but I'll admit that the new updated version is pretty awesome! I think that the new Camaro is what McGarrett will stick with, even if he ends up restoring his dad's old Merc. But...is that Camaro McGarrett's or Danno's? -- Last edit: 2011-01-24 07:12:27 |

It's Danno's personal car, but him and Steve share it and use it for offical Five-O business. |

Gotcha...thanks! |

Well...this iconic old '74 Mercury Marquis Brougham finally made another appearance!! It was shown again at the beginning of tonight's new "5-0" episode. Supposedly it had broke down and McGarrett and Danno were having to push it up a hill. However, the car actually does still run just fine. I truly hope it shows up again soon. I love big old "boats" and Jack Lord's old car from the original show is awesome! -- Last edit: 2011-02-15 07:21:06 |

Danno: "You've been working on your Dad's old wreck for six months and you get nine miles out it; I'm very impressed." McGarrett: "This is a classic car, and classic cars are temperamental, okay?" |

This old Mercury shows up again this season too, after Danny's silver Camaro is blown up! Awesome...I hope to see some more of it! Also, don't know how important it is, but Brougham needs to be added to the model name. |

Lord's old Mercury was on tonight's episode again ...only in the garage this time, but still shown and talked about. Again, Brougham needs to be added to the model name. -- Last edit: 2013-10-26 05:43:59 |

Awesome thumbnails, potter! Also, glad someone finally added "Brougham" to the model name. How about we change out the "main" pic at the top to a better, and more distinguishable one...maybe one of achiu31's thumbnails above (from back in 2011)? Lord's old 74 Marquis continues to be seen on this show...and I'm lovin' it! -- Last edit: 2014-11-16 06:28:23 |

My first car when I had My drivers licence in 1983 was My Father 1974 Marquis Brougham EXACTLY like this one, but was royal blue (Ford code 3B), 4 doors hardtop with a 460 four barrels carb powered, The top speed of this Marquis was around 135mph, and so fast in acceleration for a 4490lbs car, it was a very beautyful car, 21.5 feet long bumper to bumper (including the extension bumperettes) hehehh! Dom. |

This will never be the real Hawaii Five-O. |

I realized this is listed as a ‘coupe’...and it’s a 4-door car, so that’s inaccurate. Would ‘sedan’ be correct? |
◊ 2023-05-03 02:45 |
yep.. unless two ( a sedan and a coupe ) were used but i think it was more a misclick , changing |

Nope...only this car (4-door sedan) was used & was originally owned by Jack Lord. It was also used to transport Lord from his home to the studio each morning. After the show ended, Lord gave his stunt double (John Nordlum) the car...as he’d driven it so much during production & he’d asked for it. He owns it to this day. |
