The film was made entirely in Israel. Egypt and Jordan are the only Arab states that recognise Israel, and I don't think there's much trade. More generally, we have to be careful about assuming that a car came from the geographically closest assembly plant. Especially in developing countries, local assembly operations are often set up just to get around heavy import duty and only serve the domestic market. Export possibilities in neighbouring countries might be blocked by political hostility or more tariff barriers. My gut instinct says delete 2002 and made in Egypt. P.S. Yes, it has the current Lebanese plate style which was introduced in the late 1990s. I guess they forgot to put an older style plate like what this Mercedes has: /vehicle_335767-Mercedes-Benz-280-C-W123-1978.html |
