I wish there were a better view of that yellow coupe in the background; it looks interesting. *squints* AMC Javelin, maybe? Or 1973-74 Dodge Charger Rallye?

I might be wrong since I'm not one of the US-cars experts here, but I think CougarTim is right with his first suggestion as I think it's simply not big enough to be a Charger which becomes clear when your compare the size of the car in question to the length of the hood of the red car right behind. And the design of the Challenger was much more harmonious. And although the performance-versions of the Chrysler B-and E-bodies often had a similar yellow paintjob I think the "hump" on the front fenders and the slightly clumsy back indicate that it's a ca. 1971 AMC Javelin.

Accepted. I'm no US-car expert either. Script above rear wheel seems just right for "Javelin", too short for "Challenger".

I'm not sure if the fiberglass bumper was even available yet in 1987, was it?
