Probably the ambulance was made on Bus-basis. Surely "build in ZA". |

This ambulance is a November '66 (model year '67). I now own this vehicle. =] Ingo: all Type 2 T1 ambulances were produced in Germany. This vehicle was destined for South Africa though, and landed at Port Elizabeth with the applicable 'SF' export code. |

Ah, thanks for the info. ![]() Does VW of South Africa always have produced complete cars in their standard-version, or made they also just chassis or cars with half-completed bodies, for a later conversion by local manufacturers? |

Hi Ingo, Fast response. Are you an Administrator here, or is there a way to subscribe to comments on certain photos?VW started producing cars here in '56, in Uitenhage, Port Elizabeth. VW still produce cars here today. VW ZA produced full cars here from '56, however, some models were still full imports - anything earlier was brought in to the country only as a full import. VW ZA also imported and assembled CKDs of various models through the years. As far as I know, VW ZA never produced any mainstream vehicles here for conversion by local coachbuilders. |

He is part of the members who often check what are the new comments posted (using the "see all comments" link at the top of the page) Unfortunately, not yet, this is on part of the things that I have to add on the site ![]() |

This site does not "run" as fast as others, it's easy to follow every comment in my opinion, i was away during this weekend and yesterday when i was back i checked the comments from the whole weekend, and it takes a bit of time but it's easy to do, but i understand that if you don't visit the site a lot you may miss things you're interested in. |

This would be great. @Merlin: you can check this by going at "profile" and then check at "comments posted" you last postings, if perhaps there are some answers. Two other details, which I would very welcome over here, would be -as most important- the possibility to send personal messages and a "members actual online"-listing. @Dear, great Mr.Administrator: ahem... /vehicle.php?id=81833 ![]() |

also planned with a chat I guess? not planned (too much work for a feature that I do not find so useful, or maybe if I find something already made and "ready-to-use") listing the K70? for what is visible of it... (the Saab is not listed either ) -- Last edit: 2008-12-16 00:31:51 |

Thanks so much! A "who's online" is the most annoying feature in modern forums. I always activate the invisible mode (if available!), because I don´t want everybody and his brother to know what I´m currently looking at. Plus I don´t want to defend against 15 little messages each time I visit the site. But: I would appreciate a regular chat. |

A chat would be great. |

A chat would indeed be useful. I too, don’t think a user online display is necessary. |

Visible enough to indentify it as a 1972 model in sumatragreen. Perhaps you can add it as a thumbnail to the other K 70 in that movie. |
|

but anybody can do that, why me?Either post the link, or use the following syntax: [thumb]number[/thumb] where "number" is the number found in the page address of the car of which you want the thumbnail to appear in comments -- Last edit: 2008-12-17 23:14:23 |
