The van itself was part of a running gag in the movie. They tried to recycle the joke with a Toyota Prius in 'Be Cool' but it was to forced and failed
It's a '94-'95 because of the wheels, the grill is more rounded and it has the 3800 emblem on the side. Also common sense denotes that if it was a rental, it would have been brand new, or close too it. I myself was just looking at one because it looks like the one from this movie.

I love this van! And it's not a '90, it is a 94 or 95, as previously mentioned.

The same as Pontiac Trans-Port in France http://images01.olx.fr/ui/1/30/57/9142357_1.jpg

1994 as that was the first year the front turn signals wrapped around in the bumper (and for other reasons previously stated)

I have a Dark teal Metallic 1995 Silhouette myself.

Interesting note though, when Danny DeVito pulls up to the restaurant in a similar van, it is not a Silhouette. It is a Lumina APV with Silhouette wheels and stripes.

Wow. That has to be the most Silhouettes seen in one place, at one time ever.

Near my house, probably two or three blocks, have a white 2nd-hand imported Silhouette. Its nice :D
Probably the unique here.

The Oldsmobile never existed here, but the Pontiac-version was indeed sold in Europe:

... one of the very few Pontiac-models, which were sold here. Normally this brand is not available here.

The newer version was sold (a few times) as Chevrolet:

P.S. @Gomsel: the 2nd-hand-imports sound not really senseful, if you see, how low the prices are. Or it's the same as with other imported cars in Argentina, that they are extremely overpriced?

The newer one was also sold as the Vauxhall/Opel Sintra too.

Here, the 2nd-hand imported cars are forbidden, except some people who lived in other countries, and it was his car in that country. And yes, the price of the cars here, are expensive due to over-protection of an industry that produces cars mostly obsolete and the Narcosur policies.

Changing to 1993 as the first year for this newer front design.

Except it is a 1994-95, that colour was not available in 1993.
