Looks like something Japanese from the 1970s... -- Last edit: 2010-09-03 01:49:43 |

Maybe Datsun 1600/510 circa 1968-72? -- Last edit: 2010-09-03 01:46:16 |

definitely a Datsun/Nissan. ~ this looks like what would have been sold in the U.S. as a Datsun 510, from the early part of the 1978+ [A10] series... these were sold around the world as... Nissan Auster Nissan Violet Datsun 510 Datsun Stanza Datsun Violet Datsun 160J i'm not sure where this section of the movie was filmed, or which badge it would have worn... except that the Nissan Auster naming was for the Japanese home market, so that could likely be ruled out. |

It is much earlier than 1978. |

For what it's worth, the IMDB says it was filmed in the US, Jordan, Egypt and Malaysia. Going by the architecture, I think this scene was filmed in Jordan or Egypt. |

this is an [A10] series for certain... from the safety bumpers to the vent style on the c-pillar. round headlight [A10] models were released as 1978 and 1979 models in the U.S., then face-lifted. sometimes other markets rolled out new series a year or two earlier than we received them, but nissan shows production for these beginning in late 1977... ![]() ![]() |

The capture has been changed, and now we can see the car has a current Jordanian number plate: http://www.worldlicenseplates.com/world/AS_JORD.html |

European spec bumpers, so I think this should be Datsun Violet 160J [A10], instead. |
