During the earlier part of the chase, this older model Chrysler was used by the unknown agents before it unexplicably turned into the 300.

Also, another 300 is seen as part of the Prime Minister's security detail during another scene:

I know this comment is six years old, but to answer this "question": They changed the car, because the New Yorker scene was filmed in Massachussetts, while the 300C scene was filmed on the german island Sylt.

We had this generation of New Yorker in Germany as well. But imagine someone has to find one of those very rare cars, drive it all the way up to Sylt, just to film a 3 second scene. Who would do that? Not Roman Polanski at least.
