Was "Sierra Classic" the highest trim level? |

Yes, for this time period, it was the top-of-the-line luxury, the best money could buy. This Suburban is rear-wheel drive, not all-wheel drive. -- Last edit: 2012-06-17 00:28:54 |

based on Neptune's information that this is a 2WD version... i'd surely say yes to the idea that it seems to be a 3/4 ton truck. at one point i had a 2wd sierra classic suburban (6.2 diesel) from this era, and it certainly sat significantly lower than this one. additionally, the size of the wheel center caps seems to be in line for the 8 lug wheels. comments? |

I agree, but I don't know how it should be listed for this generation. I don't know whether it would be listed as simply "2500," "[C-2500]", etc. Neptune would be the one to know that. |

Sorry, this comment is a bit late ![]() It is a C-2500 class. This episode aired in September of 1987, and given the black-on-black windshield trim, I dare say it might be a 1987 or 1988 model R-2500 class Suburban. Listing the class name the chassis filed is what I have had issues with. I only followed procedure in listing them that way as that was how they were listed here before my arrival. When GM is specific, they name them with the drive/class first and then the nameplate, either Suburban or Blazer/Jimmy... For example Chevrolet K Blazer or GMC K Jimmy. Sometimes they use the class number and sometimes they don’t. ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-06-17 00:48:58 |

This episode was from the fall of 1987, and Ray bought this brand new. So I think it’s safe to say this is an ‘87 model. |
