This Morgan is a Plus 4 Super Sport, probably 1961 to 1963 because of the clear turning lights. Note the bonnet scoop (to allow Weber side-draft carbs instead of SU\'s)and the 72-spoke wire wheels (stronger than standard 60-spoke). Numerous upgrades are under the skin, which is aluminum instead of steel.
These are among the most desired of all Morgans, as about 100 were produced between 1961 and 1967 model years.
The legendary Chris Lawrence had successfully upgraded the Plus 4 for racing in the late 1950s, and impressed Peter Morgan so much that one or two cars a month were produced to \"Lawrencetune\" specifications, with much of the work farmed out to Lawrence\'s shop. These Super Sports were virtually race-ready, and Lawrence won his class in the 1962 Le Mans road race in one of these Plus 4 Super Sports.
Many of these cars were raced, and some still are despite their high collector value. The car in the picture has been fitted with a roll bar (which was not always required in the Sixties) and the front bumper has been removed to shed a little weight.

Raced (and retired) by Wayne Carini in a 2008 episode, this car belonged to the presenter's late friend.
