more than welcome. always glad to see another S30 show up on the site. not that very many present themselves to be added... but by the lighting (since i know it to be your favorite detail): ~ if the front parking light/turn signal units are in the grille like this one rather than under the outward bumper corners, the z will be either a late 1974(.5) 260z or a 1975+ 280z. unless the capture shows some solid proof (like an emblem or a license plate number that can be decoded) of being a 260z, they can generally be listed as a 1975+ 280z based on the increased probability. after the parking lights moved up to the grille, the next notable change to the z models would be the update from the more rounded/smoother bumpers of the 1975-76 models with the "chrome" center section extending a bit further around the corners, to this bumper style with the longer rubber bellows extensions and the recessed channel horizontally across the "chrome" face, indicating 1977+. a similar bumper style change occured to the rear bumpers at the same time (between the 1976 and 1977 model years) as well. additionally, the vented hood was new for the 1977 model year, and carried over for 1978. -- Last edit: 2010-08-01 01:57:16 |
