That dark spot on top of the van looks like a CHMSL... if it is, then it's a 1994-1996. |

No, it can't be a CHMSL. All Ford Aerostars between 1994 and 1997 had CHMSLs mounted above the rear window. This model is somewhere between 1986 and 1993 depending on the grill. |

Not the cargo vans with the swing out style doors which this one has as indicated with the off-center door handle. |

It's not a 1986, because the "Aerostar" badge was placed on the tailgate in 1988. But my theory is that it's probabably a 1992-93 since those model years are more common nowadays, even though they don't make them anymore. |
