Is there Chevrolet bowtie on the hubcap?

It is in Blue Bird body...

Blue Bird Micro Bird body. Looks to be an early 2003 model.

I thought this one is the previous generation Chevrolet Express/GMC Savana :??:

Blue Bird didn't start using the newer style grille/headlights right away for the 2003 model, so a bunch of early '03s were made with the older style chassis. This bus has the newer style rear-view mirrors that were introduced for 2003.

Since we list these by the chassis manufacturer and not the body manufacturer is it feasible to list it as a 2002 Express?

we have many listed as "blue bird", and two others with that model... I do not know what is the best way to list them

I see what you mean, Pokeoddsponge. There may be leftover of the previous generation body that continues to manufacture in 2003 until that body style supply has been exhausted...

Can we list this as 2003 model year?

Yeah, the town I live in has a bunch of these and there are some (with GMC badging) that said on the Blue Bird manufacture plate "Model Year: 02", and the newer ones with the updated mirrors (with Chevy badging) and they said "Model Year: 03". And they all have the older style grille and headlights.

I don't know the model year for the chassis was (which is on a different sticker) but usually those don't even have the model year on them, it will just give the date it was built on, for example "Vehicle manufactured by Blue Bird Body Company on (mm/dd/yyyy), including incomplete vehicle manufactured by General Motors corporation on (mm/dd/yyyy)."

To complicate things more, I have seen some full-sized Blue Birds that were 2002s with the newer mirrors, but all of the Micro Birds (short bus like this one) with these newer mirrors i've seen have been 03 and newer.

I found this here that backs up my claim, it says its a 2003 http://buses.zwebpages.com/BlueBird/MBMVC-024Sf.htm
Here's the newer style '03. http://www.schoolbusland.com/blue/28185.htm

Like I had said they used both for '03, and I think the body manufacturer assigns the year when they assemble the final vehicle by putting the body on the chassis.

hmmm I didn't even look as I know we list the full size buses as Ford, International etc., with the body builder in Extra Info...

So I went for a walk tonight and I parked at the elementary school parking where all the school buses are still lined up for inspection, so just to solve this I looked at the VIN number of one of the 2003 buses I mentioned, and the VIN number (on the Chevy chassi) says it's a 2002, but above the door on the right on the inside (visible through the window) like I said the Blue Bird manufacture plate says "Model Year 03".

So I guess we should put 2002 Chevrolet Express with 2003 Blue Bird Micro Bird in the Extra Info.

Also check out this picture: [Image: 0730102028.9200.jpg] (Look at the inspection stick on the left... R is for Rejected. Luckily they ordered 2 new buses for this upcoming school year.)

Well done, Pokeoddsponge :king:

One final note... I believe this is Chevrolet Express due to the Chevrolet bowtie at the hubcap.
