Nothing on check sites, but genuine spring 61 plate.

The story was set in 1959. It made me cross that the set decorators/prop management hadn't bothered to hire a Mk 1 - a much more convincing choice, especially as the car was required to look down-at-rims in later scenes. As I recall, the Mk II used was a 2.4 (DVLA records will doubtless confirm).

"900MAE is a Silver 2013 Ford Transit 125 T260 Trend Fwd with a numberplate first registered in Bristol. This Panel Van was first used on the road on Wednesday 31st July 2013." So no Jag record traceable now. 2.4 usually had horn grilles so this would probably be ID'd as a 3.4, although fogs were optional on 2.4. If you know the car was 2.4, then can be added.

Thank you, dsl, and for your good wishes. It seems the Jaguar's owners capitalised on sale of the reg. no. Have always maintained that the original mark is very much part of a vehicle's history, even on such modern tinware as a Mk II.

Now we're getting more photos, seems no bootlid badge for engine size, which also suggests 2.4.

Agreed, dsl. No good close-up views of the boot; but the Bedford CAZ ambulance and others in the night-time opening sequence being the best. However could find no engine size badge on the boot.
