[W108] or (less common) [W109]. Were these US-style headlights standard in Italy ? |

They were standard for the bigger W108 and the W109, and it was a very popular extra for the low-trim W108. AFAIK at the end of the production, all W108 got these four lamps, as a late, 1968+ W108 with the single lamps is a very rare sight. I cannot remember, that I've seen that. @DynaMike: a W109 could be possible, as it has the extra fog lamps and the suspension looks quite low. Not to forget to mention: 300 SEL 6.3 [W109] = |

@DynaMike ![]() A photo, I've made today: ![]() It's a real 1963-model. It does not look good with the later double-lamps and the new hubcaps (caused by the other wheel-size). Not authentic any more. The white steering-wheels doesn't help either. P.S. Later on there was a W 120 "Ponton", also with the W114/115-wheels - it destroyed the originality quite a lot. Yes, I'm an "Originalo-Fetischist", as we say in German, I know. -- Last edit: 2010-07-25 19:07:11 |
