A question to our American members: are there some survivors? Was any of them on the market in the last years? That ones, too? /vehicle.php?id=319707#Comment769762 Due the rust problems, the low reputation of simca-cars and the extreme low prices as used cars, probably all will be crushed. I remember the Simcas from the mid-60ies and new very well from my childhood, they were quite populare here. But in the early 80ies nearly all of them disappeared. Even today, on classic car-events, you only see them very rarely and only some single cars. |

Ingo I've been wondering the same thing about the late 1950s/early 1960s Renault Dauphine. Would love to see one turn up at a modern day classic car show. |

@tv boy: even here, on European classic car shows, these Simca's are rarely to find, even in France, Belgium in Holland, where more were sold than in Germany. Compared with them, you see more Dauphines on these events! |

You know, there is one of these parked up at the garden center (in questionable condition), but I think that's the only one I've seen in a couple of years. |

I used to see one driving by in my old neighborhood in suburban Philadelphia. It was a white one with blue racing stripes. It was somewhat modified and noisy, but well-taken car of. I've never seen the Simca 1204 model on the streets. Just one in a junkyard, about 10-15 years ago. |

Hey, an owner of even two survivors plus a Renault 16 is active here: /yourcomments.php?id=njsimca |

Sensational!! I have only ever seen two Simca 1118's! One of them is mine, the dark green one in my photo albums and the other belongs to Pierre, in California. His is also white like this one! This is about as rare a car as you'll find in the United States. The 1118 (named for the 1118cc, 6cv engine) was only sold in the United States and ONLY in 1969. There couldn't have been many sold! This is a great photo, I will have to watch my old Here's Lucy reruns!! Matt Cotton Lake Parsippany, NJ http://www.flickr.com/photos/njsimca/sets/72157622330273503/ |
